Jean Delage was born in Montreal, Quebec. He has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 1974. He obtained a bachelor of arts and law degree from the University of Montreal and a Masters degree in business law from the University of Ottawa. He began his legal career practicing tax litigation with the federal Justice Department at its Montreal regional office from 1975 to 1979. He is a member of the Association de planification fiscale et financière and the Canadian Tax Foundation and is a frequent speaker at both organizations. The main focus of his practice is business and taxation law, including estate and tax planning, purchase and sale of businesses, corporate reorganizations and various types of commercial transactions.
